Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine or long-grain rice (day-old is best)

  • 8 oz beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 green onions, sliced

  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)

  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear beef until browned. Remove and set aside.

  • Melt butter in the same pan. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.

  • Push garlic to one side, add eggs, scramble gently, then combine.

  • Add rice and break up clumps. Stir-fry until heated through and slightly crisp.

  • Return beef to the pan. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Toss everything.

  • Finish with green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

Serving Tip:

Serve hot, garnished with extra green onions or a drizzle of chili oil for extra heat!

  • Add chili flakes or sriracha for spice

  • Use leftover steak or even ground beef

  • Best with day-old, chilled rice for texture
